ReFashion: Halter Dress From Big tee-shirt

This is my first re-fashion for the month of June, which I did for my lovely friend SeaLove. I used the halter#2 tutorial from OhMyStars, but made it longer so that it would be a dress, scooped the back down a bit, added darts, modified the way I attached the straps, and tied in beads where the straps hang down her back.

I LOVE OhMyStars. There are alot of cute ideas there that I want to work with this summer. It was alot of fun making this dress for my friend, and it only took an afternoon to do.

Thanks everyone! I really enjoyed making it. Like when I was sewing it up, and a little dress was emerging from the big shirt, I was like "aw...look, now it's turning into the shape of my friend."

That's really impressive. I want to learn how to sew but we are going to be moving soon and it's not a good time.

hehe.. elizabeth, just replying to your comment on my blog:

everyone needs more baskets! I agree I wish I can make them too. supposedly some grand-relative could! Ahhh... people long ago are so clever!

oh yeah, screenprinting class was fun! still unable to print yet. when I can I will! hey, hope you are still going to try surface designing :)

yeah, a flag would ruin the basket!

woo hoo - you are getting baskets too! Hope you have a great one soon. Show me a pic :) Mine are currently storing random craft junk (yep, my "neatness" is shortlived). Also have to hide them from the rabbit's teeth. Hehe
